West Ada School District orders enough laptops in preparation for fall closures
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — In a letter to parents, the West Ada School District said Tuesday it has ordered enough laptops for all students from third grade all the way up to seniors.
Classroom sets of iPads or laptops will also help students in preschool through second grade. Those may be sent home with students in case of closures in the fall.
The school district also said the State Board and Governor's Office released a decision recently saying communities (and their health policies) can now be defined as a single school.
In preparing for the fall, the West Ada School District will increase hand-sanitizing stations, face-coverings for staff and students, and plexi-shields for office areas.
"We hope to begin the year in Green which means the buses will run and students will return to school," the school district said. "This decision is based on current medical research that supports a safe in-person return to school with preventive measures in place."
The school has a three-color system for the potential pandemic situations that may come in the fall; "Green" is the ideal scenario.
