WATCH: Noah Gragson ruins Bubba Wallaces day as he wrecks the 23XI Racing driver at New Hampshire

Publish date: 2024-07-07

Bubba Wallace was in for a shocker of a race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway as his poor run off form continued and resulted in him DNFing after a clash with Noah Gragson on stage three. The poor result cost the 23XI Racing driver his spot in the playoff bubble and he is now 13 points off of the cut-off with Joey Logano in P16.

The incident occurred with just 30 mins after the race restarted, once the rain was settled. Gragson lost the control of his car and got lose during the race and climbed up the track and made contact with Bubba Wallace. The 23XI Racing driver proceeded to make contact with Austin Dillon before hitting the wall hard.

The significant damaged done to the car forced the No:23 driver to pull-up his car to the garage and retire.  Dillon also suffered a similar fate as bad luck continues to haunt him. Noah Gragson on the other hand was able to recover a bit and finish P27. Its still a poor result considering his teammates Chase Briscoe and Josh berry scored podiums while Ryan Preece scored a P11.

Bubba Wallace showed his frustration with the No:10 Stewart Haas Racing driver on the pit-road when the mustang drivers’ car was getting fixed. He parked his car ahead of Gragson’s pit-box blocking his exit, forcing him to reverse a bit to get of the pits. It was an understandable reaction from Wallace considering his loss.

Noah Gragson takes the blame for the incident

While talking about his wreck at New Hampshire following the race, he admitted that he just lacked grip and got super loose. He asserted that he didn’t clash with the driver intentionally and it was mistake from his part.

I just lacked grip. Super loose all the way around the track. Must’ve hit the paint on entry to (turn) one, and not intentionally by any means with the 23 (Bubba Wallace). Just a mistake on my part.
Noah Gragson said via NBC.

He went on apologize to the No:23 crew for his mistake and running their chances of having a solid weekend. Noah Gragson reiterated that the incident was just an accident and wasn’t what he wanted to do.

It was unfortunate and I apologize to the 23 guys for ruining their day. That’s obviously not what we want to do and not what I want to do. It was completely unintentional.
Noah Gragson said.

The trio of Wallace, Dillon and Gragson ended up in the wrong side at New Hampshire. They would be hoping to make a come back next week at Nashville and redeem themselves.
