Despite being the last draft pick of the 2022 class, Brock Purdy was never ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ to his girlfriend and now fiancee, Jenna Brandt. Rather, she was one of the staunch believers in her high school sweetheart.

Purdy replaced former quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who got injured in the 2022 season and never looked back. The San Francisco 49ers put him on the roster and hit the jackpot. They even traded away first-rounder Trey Lance to make space for the 24-year-old on the starting roster.

Everything led to their NFC Championship duel with the Detroit Lions. Brandt was present in the stadium, as were Purdy’s parents, Shawn and Carrie Purdy. It was payback time for not just the 49ers but for Brock Purdy himself, to once and for all prove that ‘Mr. irrelevant doesn’t define what his capabilities were. And he did.

But it was the Detroit Lions who got out of the blocks fast and went into halftime with a 17-point lead. It appeared that the 49ers had finally met their match. However, the Green Bay Packers game was any indication; counting Purdy was the Lions’ biggest mistake.

Two quick touchdowns from Brandon Aiyuk and Christian McCaffrey equalized the game in the third quarter. It continued in the fourth when a layoff to Elijah Mitchell increased the 49ers’ lead to 10 points. Detroit cut the lead to 3 points through Jameson Williams, which was their only contribution in the second half.

The 49ers recorded their highest-ever comeback win in a championship title game, with Purdy in the thick of it. He capped off the 20-31 pass completions with 267 yards, one touchdown, and a kiss to Brandt.

Are Brock Purdy and Jenna Brandt married?

Purdy and Brandt met at Iowa College, where he played football and she was a member of the volleyball team. Even though she switched to North Iowa, their relationship remained intact through thick and thin.

In an interview with NBC Sports, Eagles cornerback Bradley Roby said,

Nothing jumps out about him physically, but he's a sound, composed, and consistent player. And that goes way farther than height, weight, and speed. He’s a football player. He has things you can’t measure. You can’t measure heart.

Coincidentally, that’s how Purdy similarly described himself during the post-game press conference after beating the Lions.

I’ve never been the biggest, the fastest, or the strongest. I feel like I’ve always had to fight for what I get and work for what I get.

Brandt is one of the ever-present faces inside the stadium, cheering her man on from the stands.

“Always cheering you on, babes,” she wrote on Instagram in October, to which Purdy replied, “My girl.”

Just a few months earlier, in July 2023, the two announced their engagement in a social media post.

“My Jenna girl forever. I can’t wait to be your husband and grow together in Christ. Here’s to forever, babe. I love you, JB!”

Brandt celebrated her bachelorette party a week before Sunday’s NFC Championship game.

Now all eyes are on Las Vegas. On February 11, the 49ers and Purdy will face the Kansas City Chiefs to finally end their Super Bowl hunt, which they last won in the 1994 season.
