Tuohy family SHOCKINGLY reveals Michael Oher tried to shake them down for $15,000,000 before court f
The Blind Side story doesn’t have a good ending after all. Recently, the former Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Michael Oher filed a lawsuit against the Tuohy family, who took him in at 18 years old and financially supported him. Oher alleges Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy tricked him into making them his conservators nearly two days ago. And now, the Tuohy family has defended themselves.
The Tuohy family claims Michael Oher’s allegations on Monday were “outlandish, hurtful, and absurd.” Furthermore, they also revealed that the former offensive lineman actually demanded a $15 million payment from the family and threatened to go public according to TMZ. Marty Singer, an attorney for the Tuohy family revealed in a lengthy statement to TMZ that it all happened recently and this is not the first time Oher has done this.
Oher allegedly met with the Tuohys before filing a lawsuit and threatened them that if they didn’t write him an 8-figure check, he would go to the press to paint a negative story about them. Singer also denied all of the allegations made by the former Super Bowl winner, claiming that the Tuohys absolutely did not trick Oher into getting a conservatorship when he was 18 years old.
According to Singer, the conservatorship “was established to assist with Mr. Oher’s needs, ranging from getting him health insurance and obtaining a driver’s license to helping with college admissions.”
Furthermore, the attorney also revealed that Tuohys wouldn’t oppose ending the conservatorship at any point. “Should Mr. Oher wish to terminate the conservatorship, either now or at anytime in the future, the Tuohys will never oppose it in any way.”
Michael Oher’s lawsuit against the Tuohy family
Nearly two decades after the Tuohy family took Michael Oher in, the former Ravens tackle filed a lawsuit against them on Monday. Oher filed a lawsuit in Tennessee to have his conservatorship terminated.
The 37-year-old Oher has made a shocking claim that the family tricked him into believing he was adopted instead and that he only found out about the conservatorship recently. An attorney for the Tuohys has declined the claims and said the conservatorship was purely to benefit the-then teenager with his college admissions and health insurance.
Oher also claims that he never saw any profit from the money earned off his name from movies and book rights. The Tuohys are reportedly heartbroken by these allegations and are hoping to reconcile with Oher soon.
