Ubisoft’s tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege has grown massively over the years. The game had reported over 75 million registered players back in July, and more players are still joining every day.

To make lives a litter easier for new players, we’ve prepared a guide on one of the most popular and powerful operators- Iana.

Iana was introduced to Rainbow Six Siege with Y5S1 Operation Void Edge, and she brought the unique hologram gadget with her. Here are some of the things you should know when picking this 2-Speed 2-Health Attacker.

Best Weapon Loadout

For her primary weapons, Iana has two strong Assault rifle options – Nomad’s ARX200 and Ash’s G36c. Both these guns have pretty strong damage stats and a good fire rate, so the choice will mostly come down to personal preference. But we suggest you using the ARX200, as it can hit enemies harder with a minimal difference in the rate of fire compared to the G36c.

With the recent Y6S3 Crystal Guard patch, Iana lost some zoom sight attachments for her primary weapons. The G36c doesn’t have any zoom scope options now, and the ARX200 only has the 1.5x zoom sight, so take this into consideration when picking your weapon of choice.

As her secondary weapon, Iana can pick either the MK1 9mm pistol or the Gonne-6 Hand cannon. We’ll highly recommend using the Gonne-6, as it can destroy any bulletproof gadget and makes Iana strong both in terms of fragging power and utility.

Secondary Gadget

In Siege, both Frag and Smoke grenades are considered as stronger secondary gadgets, and Iana has the option of bringing either of them. Frag grenades are very versatile, as they can be used to destroy defender gadgets such as shields, kill enemies from tough spots, and even clear wall-denying utilities such as Bandit batteries or Electroclaws. Smoke grenades are also very helpful in providing cover, but as Iana is one of the best entry-fragger in this current meta, picking the Frag grenade is a no-brainer for her.

Unique Ability

Iana unique gadget is called the ‘Gemini Replicator‘, and she can use it to create a holographic clone of herself. This hologram moves and produces sound like Iana would, but it cannot shoot, melee, rappel, or use secondary gadgets.

Iana’s hologram is effectively used as a drone to collect information, but it has a max time limit of 15 seconds. The hologram only has 1hp, so it can be easily destroyed with a single bullet or damage inflected by other gadgets such as Evil Eyes. The player can also manually disable the hologram; however, you’ll still have to wait for a full recharge. The cooldown timer normally lasts for 8 seconds but increases to 30 when the holographic gadget is destroyed.

The recharging ability of this hologram essentially gives Iana an infinite number of drones, so make sure to use them to trick the defenders. Even if the defenders destroy the hologram, it will take off their attention for a short period of time, and with the help of a teammate, you can use that to eliminate them.

Tips:

(i) Iana’s hologram makes sound like the real operator would do, so use these sound cues such as dropping hatches or vaulting to confuse the enemy.

(ii) Destroy Aruni’s laser gates with the replicator, saving you utility that you can use elsewhere.

(iii) The activation of the hologram generates an audible sound and hearing that defenders might push you. You can try to bait the defenders by quickly activating and deactivating the hologram, and punish them while they rush you.
