Lawsuit filed against Boise Co-op after salmonella poisoning
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — Three people have filed a lawsuit against the Boise Co-Op after a 2015 salmonella outbreak that sickened local residents.
National food safety law firm Ron Simon & Associates says its clients, Michael Pendergraft and Taylor Wallace and Kimberly O'Roark ate sandwiches from the Boise Co-Op and became ill with salmonella within 24 hours.
The law firm says Pendergraft and O'Roark are still recovering from complications, almost two years after the outbreak. The salmonella was linked to raw turkey and tomatoes, the Central District Health Department said at the time.
“We have filed this lawsuit to preserve our clients’ legal claims and collect compensation for their injuries," said Ron Simon, lead attorney.
KBOI 2News has reached out to the Boise Co-Op for comment.
