Idaho man indicted for hate crime against LGBTQ
Boise, ID (CBS2) — On Wednesday, January 10, 2023, a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging Matthew Alan Lehigh, 31, with a hate crime.
According to the indictment in Boise on October 12, 2022, Lehigh attempted to injure two people by driving his car at them. The alleged incident was motivated by the sexual orientation of the victims.
Lehigh faces up to ten years in prison if convicted of the charges. The FBI in the Salt lake Feild office and Boise Police Department were the investigating agencies for the case. The assistant United States Attorney for the District of Idaho Katherine Horwitz and the Trial Attorney for the Civil Rights Division's Criminal Section Alec Ward are prosecuting the case.
