Damien Woody raises valid questions over Lamar Jacksons availability for the Ravens amid Odell Be

One of the biggest storylines during the 2023 off-season was Lamar Jackson‘s contract extension saga with the Baltimore Ravens. In the end, Jackson signed a 5-year deal with the Ravens and put an end to the speculations. Furthermore, he also got an upgrade in his offensive weapons arsenal as the Ravens signed former Pro Bowl wideout Odell Beckham Jr. and drafted WR Zay Flowers in the off-season. Now that he got his weapons, NFL analyst Damien Woody raises concerns about Jackson’s availability.

“I think Jackson’s availability is going to be key for the Baltimore Ravens… So, Jackson, more than anything, needs to be available for this organization to really realize their potential,” said Woody in a recent episode of the ESPN show First Take.

Furthermore, Damien Woody also noted that the dual-threat QB’s new offensive weapons, including Odell Beckham Jr. and the Ravens’ new offensive coordinator Todd Monken could bring out the full potential of Lamar Jackson.

“Offensively, this is the best offensive skill weapons that Lamar Jackson has ever had in his career with Baltimore. I think the one thing that Todd Monken is going to do is he’s going to give him the keys to make checks, head to line, to do some of the things that we see some of these other quarterbacks do,” said Woody.

The former league MVP QB has been an absolute difference-maker whenever he’s on the field. But in the last two regular seasons, Jackson has missed 10 games due to injuries. That’s the reason Woody is worried about the availability of Jackson in 2023.

Lamar Jackson has a lot to prove in 2023 with the Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens QB, who is entering his sixth year in the NFL in 2023, has a lot to prove as a franchise leader. Lamar Jackson’s net worth is around $110 million and he has some new pass catchers in the squad who will help him achieve that.

Despite his remarkable performances in regular seasons, the 26-year-old QB has an abysmal record of 1-3 in the NFL postseason. In his 4 games, Jackson has thrown for 900 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions with an ugly passer rating of 68.3.

Jackson has failed to show up on big stages, especially in the playoffs, which remains a blackspot in the 2-time Pro Bowler’s short career so far. He has a chance to prove the narrative wrong in the 2023 season.

Even though the Ravens are in a tough division grouped with the Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Cleveland Browns in the AFC North division, they still have an outside shot at even winning the Super Bowl this year under Lamar Jackson.
