Cheddars Spokesperson Shalimar Abbiusis Broni Parents Storm Ghana As Court Grants her 20k Bail

Belgian national Shalimar Abbiusi, the spokesperson for the New Force who was arrested, has been granted bail in the sum of Ghc 20,000.

This occurred when her case was finally taken to court Monday, December 11th 2023.

Shalimar Abbiusi’s parents, who had been seen in a previous video crying following her incarceration, have also flown into Ghana from Belgium to support her during her tribulations.

A video earlier today showed them entering the court for her first hearing since being arrested last week.

As revealed by a statement from the New Force last week, Shalimar Abbiusi was arrested on alleged trumped-up charges due to her political activism and was held without due process for over four days.

Meanwhile, the state alleges that she misrepresented some documents to enable her receive documents to live in Ghana hence her arrest.

In court today, the judge heard all sides and granted her bail in the sum of Ghc 20,000.

Her lawyer, Francis Xavier Sosu, has also revealed that the state is still reluctant to release Shalimar Abbiusi despite being granted bail and said they would not allow justice to be perverted.
