Car crashes into Caldwell car dealership, leaving thousands of dollars in damage
CALDWELL, Idaho (CBS2) — Team Mazda Subaru in Caldwell is suffering from a couple hundred thousand dollars in damage after they say a driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into their dealership.
"Surprising to come in and see that kind of carnage," said Jacob Rapp, a salesman at Team Mazda Subaru.
The dealership says this happened earlier this month. Around midnight, Rapp says the driver crashed through their light pole and into several cars.
Three cars are totaled and three others have extensive damage.
Rapp says he's been working there 11 years and has never seen anything like this.
“When the accident was over his car was upside down leaning up against the power pole. I don’t know how it landed that way, but it did,“ Rapp said.
Rapp says there is about 230 thousand dollars in damages that will be coming out of the owner’s pocket.
"We’d like to move past it, like to get the cars replaced. Unfortunately, he didn't have insurance and sometimes it's hard to squeeze money where there's not money to squeeze," Rapp said.
