20 Cars Similar to the Chevy Trailblazer

In 1999, the Chevrolet Trailblazer was first introduced as a mid-size SUV and had a run until it was replaced in 2009 by the Traverse crossover SUV. The model years of the first generation of the Trailblazer ran from 2001 until 2008. At the time, it was presented as an upscale trim of the compact four-door unit, the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer.

Technically speaking, the Trailblazer didn’t start the GMT360 truck platform for the SUV until 2002. From 2002 until 2005, it was a four-wheel-drive vehicle, except for the SS model, which was based on an all-wheel-drive system.

After the Trailblazer was discontinued in 2008, it wasn’t until 2011 that the second generation of this model would make its way back to the consumer market. However, its reintroduction was for the Asian market at that time when it was first unveiled as a concept during the 2011 Dubai Motor Show.

It was then displayed as a production model in 2012 at the Bangkok Motor Show. Built in Thailand and Brazil, this new breed of Trailblazers was sold in Asia, India, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa. In Australia, it was sold as the Holden Colorado from 2012 until 2016 before it was rebadged as the Trailblazer.

The newest lineup of the Trailblazer comes either as a 1.2-liter that delivers 137 horsepower at 162 pounds per foot torque, or a 1.3-liter engine that has a 155-horsepower output at 174 pounds per foot torque. The fuel efficiency rating is measured between thirty to thirty-three miles per gallon on the highway, and between twenty-six and twenty-nine miles per gallon in the city.
